What happens after you apply

1
Submit the form
Fill in your details and select which workshops you want to attend — one, several, or all six.
2
Confirmation — within 5 working days
Online payment isn't set up yet, so this step is simply the team confirming your seat is available and sending bank transfer details — it isn't a selection process.
3
Secure your seat by payment
Seats are held on a first-come basis. Completing payment within 7 days of confirmation secures your place.
4
Welcome and pre-workshop information
On receipt of payment, you'll receive a welcome note with everything you need — accommodation guidance, what to bring, and any pre-workshop reading.

Payment is by bank transfer only. Details are issued by the team once your seat is confirmed. Online payment via Razorpay is not yet set up but may be offered once available.

Refund policy: full refund if a seat cannot be confirmed. 50% refund if you cancel more than 14 days before the workshop. No refund within 14 days of the workshop.

Frequently asked

Can I book individual modules or do I need to take all six?
Both are possible. You can book all six in advance (recommended, as later modules fill up) or take individual modules subject to seat availability at the time.
Do I need prior knowledge of Sugiura's work to attend?
No. The workshops are designed for professional typographers and publication designers — prior exposure to Sugiura's work is useful but not required. The application form asks about your background so the team can advise on the most relevant starting workshop.
Is accommodation provided?
Participants arrange their own accommodation in Puducherry. Guidance is provided on acceptance. A guest house on the Villa Appavou campus is available for visiting faculty only.
Are international participants welcome?
Yes. The courses are open to participants from anywhere. The application and all communication is in English.
Something else?
Use the Enquire form and the team will respond.
