Frequently asked

Do I need to be currently teaching to apply?
No — the program is open to designers with a BDes, MDes, or PhD in Design. You do not need to be actively teaching, though the program is designed for those who intend to make teaching as their life-long career.
What does 'sponsored candidate' mean?
A Sponsored candidate is a faculty member from an existing Design School, that commits to have the faculty back after completion of the course. SAKS gives preference to sponsored candidates because it increases the chance that program learnings are applied back in a real institutional context.
Is accommodation provided?
Participants arrange their own accommodation in Puducherry. Accommodation advisory and assistance will be provided on acceptance.
Are international participants welcome?
Yes. The courses are open to participants from anywhere. The application and all communication is in English.
